About Carol Woodward and von Siegerhaus Kennels
Since 1963 I have participated in the sport of purebred dogs as an owner, exhibitor (conformation, obedience, and Schutzhund), breeder, trainer, professional handler, and judge. I am known for my von Siegerhaus Kennels. I, as breeder/owner and von Siegerhaus Kennels have produced and/or owned over 100 Champions and many more obedience titled Maltese, Brussels Griffons, Labradors, and Rottweilers. The newest addition to my family are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
As a PHA registered (Professional Handlers Association) professional handler, I have finished dogs in just about every American Kennel Club group. My early history with Rottweilers is will recorded in such books as The Professional Book of Rottweilers by Anna K. Nicholas and our puppies are in just about any American written Rottweiler book you can get your hands on. von Siegerhaus Rottweilers has had a dog or bitch in the ARC Top 10 conformation listing every year from 1974 through 1998. Many years having more that one on the top 10 list; with the highest being 5 in one year between bitches and males. Von Siegerhaus is the producer/owner of 11 Gold (2), Silver(1), and Bronze(8) Producers. There are 14 others represented in their pedigrees, allowing von SIegerhaus to let others benifit.
Some of von Siegerhaus' more famous dogs are Int'l/Am/Can/Mex CH. Quick von Siegerhaus CDX SchHl Ztpr TT. Quick is a Gold Producer, ARC Top 10 , and a Kennel Review Top Producer. His son Am/Can CH. Amos von Siegerhaus CGC, was also an ARC Top 10 and a Gold Producer. Also Quick's daughter, Am/Can CH. Zana von Siegerhaus in 1989 was the top winning bitch of all time, coming in # 2 Rottweiler in points behind the very famous "Nelson". Carol's puppies are still winning top 10 awards. In last few years puppies produced or co-produced by von Siegerhaus such as Xanadu Xrated von Siegerhaus CD, HS, HIAs, HXAs was # 7 in herding. Amos kids out of "Rosebud" Am/Can CH Blackhaven R Bouquet of Rosebuds' are finishing their Championships as of this writing. Grandchildren of Andee von Siegerhaus that were bred by von Marcs Rottweilers, have done very well at the 2006 Medallion Specialty. Amos is still available for stud through frozen semen as is Amos' son, AM/Can CH VCT Hannibal "Hank" von Siegerhaus.
I has judged fun matches since the 70's. In 1996 I judged the Sweepstakes for Willamette Toy Dog Club and the American Rottweiler Specialty in Bremerton, WA. I have also judged sweepstakes at many Rottweiler Club specialties including the US National Specialty; Golden State Rottweiler Club Specialty; the ARC Region lll specialty in Albuquerque, NM and the Canadian National Specialty in 2003. In 2005 I judged Cavaliers for a Canadian Specialty, CKCS Club of British Columbia.
In 1999 I became enamored with a cute little breed from England that my best friend owned. That was the Cavalier. I now live with 3 of my own, showing my own Bred-by puppy (MNM von Siegerhaus) to the Best Puppy in Show and BOS in Sweepstakes at the recent COPS Specialty in September 2006. I have shown many other dogs in the capacity of a PHA handler. My gentle hand and demeanor as well and knowing and owning toy breeds for over 30 years, makes me a very capable handler and judge of Toy breeds, as I understand the temperament and needs of the toy breeds.
